Job Description:
Training is provided, and work is supported by a team. Wages are hourly. The Installer is the person primarily responsible for work outside of our FullSpeed office, which includes checking locations for whether they can get our internet Service via radio signals, and then installing the equipment onsite to make it work. This person prepares for each location by using a desk computer in the office to check the geography and find compass headings to our systems, then go onsite and use test radio equipment. Some paperwork is required to make notes on various aspects of the work. If testing shows successful results, the Installer will be responsible for creating a plan for the wiring and mounting of a radio and/or dish, similar to a satellite dish installation, and then completing that installation physically. Wire is attached and run inside the building (neatly) and a WiFi router is installed inside. Basic handyman skills are needed for this. These are the basic duties, simplified. Skills & Qualifications:
Clean Driving Record and pass a background check
Basic skills with hand tools & climbing equipment (Ladders)
Ability to crouch, kneel, and work in confined areas for extended periods, and on rooftops, ladders, etc.
Ability to lift & work with heavy objects. Great Verbal Communication Skills (A Positive, Customer-Friendly Attitude)
Great Written Communication Skills (Clear documentation of service and installation).
Ability to seek clarification if things are confusing or unclear
Installer Job Duties:
Traveling to customers' homes or place of business.
Installing the radio (and dish if needed) for our Internet Service, wire runs to the inside of buildings, and related items like WiFi Routers,
and also other electrical or computer equipment such as flat-screen televisions, projectors, routers, desktop computers, laptops, and tablets.
Working with our staff to research and prepare for upcoming job activities.
Suggesting areas where equipment should be set up and where cords should be placed.
Troubleshooting problems with existing equipment.
Testing old and new installation connections.
Providing customers with verbal and written operating instructions for new equipment.
Maintaining equipment. Maintaining the work vehicle.
Cleaning up after the job is complete.
Recording and maintaining stock levels.
Serves existing accounts; plans daily travel schedule; investigates complaints; conducts tests; resolves problems.
Establishes service by studying system requirements; ordering and gathering components and parts; completing installation; performing acceptance tests.
Maintains confidence with customers by examining complaints; identifying solutions; suggesting improvements.
Keeps equipment in good condition by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
Completes forms, reports, logs, and records about service and installation actions.
Maintains customer confidence by explaining things, and keeping service information confidential.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.
